Don't arrive in resort until Wednesday but group lessons start on a Sunday? Here's your answer to when you can start group lessons:
Most ski school group lessons start on a Sunday or a Monday and will run the course for the full week.
This is to ensure that the group progresses cohesively as a team and minimises disruptions midweek, especially when some participants have already made significant progress. By maintaining continuity throughout the week, instructors can optimise the learning experience for all participants and facilitate consistent advancement for the entire group.
Beginners must always start their lessons from the first day, otherwise the school will not have a beginner level, as those participants will have already progressed.
This specifically applies to ski schools in France.
Some ski schools, mainly in Austria, Switzerland and Germany, do offer group lessons starting every day of the week!
However, if you are a beginner you may still be required to start your ski school on the first day of the course.
If you are a more advanced skier or snowboarder, ski schools will be more flexible with joining during the middle of the week depending on your experience.
If you want to join the group and finish the course early, you will still need to purchase the whole course as a package. Any unused days are unfortunately non-refundable.
